Opinion Polls

It is interesting that on the initial preview of the Stelvio in March, 52% said they were unsure about it. I have created the new poll to see if this has changed now that official definitive pictures have been released. 2  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

It goes to show you that us Guzzi folk are fairly traditional. Who could not like a T-3/V7 Sport blend offered in the new V7 Classic? Now, if the Classic just came with a wee splash of color... That Stelvio, while I would not kick it out my garage if someone were to leave it their, is quirky enough looking in the photos for me to take a wait-and-see attitude. I think it's the headlights/fairing that I find to be odd. 2  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

Yeah, I guess Guzzisti are traditional...it's funny though, some months ago, on an Italian forum I posted the idea that maybe a retro version of the Ambassador or Eldorado would be cool...to a man they shouted me down, stating that Guzzi should look forward, not back...funny isn't it? how things turn out? Incidentally, I think the V7 Classic is only gonna be available in the white/black/red finish we've seen in photos... 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

I would love to see an Eldo/Ambo remake. The more cruiser st yled California tank is too bulbous and the seat/foot peg arrangement isn't as good as a standard Eldo set up. Good design is timeless and something that I always look forward to. I dare say that my V50s are as good looking as anything in the market today. The V7 classic will make a fine replacement, even if I have to get out a can of red paint. Put the Breva 1100 in the neo-retro Ambo and I might just be first in line. Either red/chrome or black/chrome please. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

I wonder if a larger or more powerful V7 Classic is in the pipeline . Its the kind of bike I most like , and as its name suggests it will be one for longer term ownership . But I suppose it depends on what we all see as ''Classic '' . For me it is a bike I enjoy riding , regardless of where to , or weather , and when its parked , one I look back at as I walk away just to enjoy its lines . 1  out of 1 found this valuable. I do like those V50s...have you seen the Guzzi Respurces section? There's a section with press articles...one is about the V50III... Do you find this valuable?

It's interesting, I would have it to have worn the 850 motor as in this frame Ithink it would have been awesome. In the V7 Classic page though, I posted a sepparate little opinion poll and most people seem to think that the 750 motor has ample power... Do you find this valuable?

The only problem I have with the new Stelvio, is MG have gone in the same stylistic direction as BMW and Triumph - Square and angular looking. I always liked the look of the older BMW's and Triumph Tigers - 'bulbous'.

Mind you, A stelvio would make a great everyday work bike.

Well, I am late to the game here. I just purchased a 2009 Stelvio and will take delivery of it tomorrow or the following day at the latest. Mine is red, with the factory hard bags. I was intrigued by the photos and reviews of the Stelvio and when I saw it and sat on it in the showroom, I fell in love with the thing! While it admittedly has some odd styling cues, I find its overall appearance very pleasing to the eye, and up close the build quality and fit and finish appear to be outstanding. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. I agree. I hated it at first...for a short time. Then, when more details about it were released I began to like it more and more. In the spring, when we went out for our ride to the Sammy Millr museum I saw one in the flesh and I do think it is a terrific bike. My personal preference is for black but that's just my own taste.

Have you read the articles we have on the Stelvio?:

There's a lot more Stelvio material on the site including magazine articles etc...enjoy!

Joe, thank you very much for the links. Those articles contain excellent information. I have read other reviews and watched some on-line videos, and the more I see, the more I am convinced this bike will be a perfect fit for my needs and desires! I am not planning to ride through outer Mongolia, but I think the Stelvio will do just fine on the occasional dirt or gravel road. The vast majority of my riding will be done on pavement anyway, and it sounds like the Stelvio excels on blacktop.
Thank you again, and best regards,
Bruce

hi , as I'm a bit short in the leg department a Stelvio would be a bit too tall for comfort ( I'm not as young as I used to be either !! ) and while I'm sure that the small case motor is powerful enough most of the time , its still much less than my LeMans , and I still use most of the old girls perfomance from time to time , and I'd sure miss it if it wasn't there ! 1  out of 1 found this valuable. I have a fairly short inseam as well, but with the seat adjusted down as far as it can go, I think it will be fine. From the specs, it sounds powerful enough for me too, but as they say, you can never have too much horsepower!
Cheers,
Bruce
