I'm quite new to Guzzi and I do have concerns about the support the factory give the dealers resulting in poor parts availabillity.

I'm not sure the importers see the UK as a very important market, proof of that is in their absence from teh NEC and London bike shows!

Cheers Andy. I know you've only had your Griso a relatively short time...have you had problems obtaining parts etc? It's interesting what you say about the NEC show...it seems the only one Guzzi attended was the Milan show...

No problems so far Joe! I found my dealer "Motosport" in Dorset first class when taking test rides and purchasing the bike. I can't understand why the Guzzi importers didn't attend the UK shows? I know my mate who was looking at getting a new bike went to the NEC so that he could look at the new Blade and Duc 848 before he made his decission. How many sales did Guzzi miss out on by not attending? In my relitavely short time as a Guzzisti I have noticed how loyal Guzzi owners are, often owning several models over the years. To me it would be good marketing sence to attend and hook some potential customers.

guys.. you should try living in the backwaters... i.e. In new zealand, to my knowledge there are perhaps 30-50 guzzis in the south island in total!! mind you there are only about a million people in this island. We dont have a royal airforce, we've got a navy of 3 boats, but, we can afford 120 politicians L.O.L.
We have just got ourselves a new Guzzi dealer in christchurch though and to their credit they are trying hard to promote guzzis. Hooray

the current theme seems to be that people have a lot of support for the local dealer...in NZ, if there are as few as that, it musta been quite some business decision to make to become a dealer in Guzzis...who handles the import side of things over there Luigi? 2  out of 2 found this valuable. I dont know actually? There are more dealers in the north island (there are 2-3 million people in the north island and so the economics are better of having a guzzi shop.
lots of dealers here have the odd secondhand guzzi, and spares have never been a problem for me, if i cant get them here i just buy them from motointernational or teo lammers.
One of the best parts suppliers here is http://www.motokiwi.co.nz/ who are based on a little island an hour off the coast !!

Just a few thoughts on has been said,as GrisoEarl quite rightly said Guzzi owners are loyal to the marque, why?Because we love a bike that has heart, you dont find one on every street corner, meet another Guzzista and its like family,a world family, most owners can carry out basic work if not you can always find some one to give help or advice and in my experience Guzzi Dealers tend to be very helpful and are genuinely interested in getting that part for you not just selling you the latest pocket rocket. As for the importers i think they consider that Guzzis are a niche marque and would rather concentrate on other makes they handle. We as Guzzi owners probably help sales more than any form of advertising, how? By talking to other bikers about our reasons for Having a Guzzi and our enthusiasm comes accross. As far as the bikes are concerned Guzzis might not be the fastest things out there but i for one would rather ride a bike that hasn't had a personality by pass.

yup, totally agree, that about sums up being a guzzista. Personally I take great pride when people say..."what's that you're riding there son...a Moto what?" I've had jap bikes and noi-one gives a crap but when you meet another Guzzi on the road it'a like you just seen a mate for the first time in ages...it's what inspired me to create this collection of ramblings haha 2  out of 2 found this valuable. Since owning my '03 for a year now, I've found one Guzzi dealer/importer that I really like dealing with. They aren't particularly NEAR me, but hey, everyone's close in cyberspace!

Harper's Moto Guzzi in Missouri are excellent folks to deal with. Prompt, courteous response either by phone or mail.

Hi gang,

I also have very good support from my local dealership here in Knoxville, TN. The name is Destination Motorcycles, and the URL is:
http://www.destinationmotorcycles.com

I've ordered a few parts from them (both factory and after market) and have gotten them in just a couple of days. I can't speak highly enough of them!

Ride well,
Scott
