Looking really good Rod, I really like what you've done to it. The gaiters are a great touch...as well as practical. I know you're not into stickers, but it does need an eagle on the side of the tank...purely for aesthetics of course.

Nice one Rod, it's looking great actually. I think the shorter bars do give it a bit more of a focused look. I can't wait to see a pic of it in its new silver colour.
Getting to like the Cali now ain'tcha?

I took my motorcycle out for a long ride today. Yes, it whistled again. When I parked it in the garage, I noticed that about every 10 seconds, "something" would buzz. Sounded like it was from under the tank. It has been buzzing for over an hour now. First, the whistle and now the buzz. Is my bike haunted? I don't have a MG mechanic anywhere close to me. Can anyone come up with an answer???

Yesterday I was riding my 2010 Classic V7 down the highway and began hearing a VERY LOUD whistle. I only have 1200 miles on it. I looked around at other vehicles. It was mine. Again, it was a loud whistle that lasted for about 30 seconds and then stopped. A mile or so later, it started again and then stopped. I rode several miles today and did not hear the whistle. I can't associate the whistle with any part of the motorcycle. Has anyone heard this whistle, or discovered where it came from? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I just finished riding the motorcycle. It did it again. The whistle is back. Nothing to do with revs, clutch or rearend. Mileage was about the same as when it first started making the noise. It might be my imagination, but I think it has something to do with the gas tank venting and how much gas is left in the tank. I'll try it again after my fillup tomorrow. The weather is beautiful and I'm putting on about 100 miles a day.

after 13.500Km I had to change both tires, both were at their limit: 1.5mm thread left took the Lasertec's again, witch costed me 314 Euro's.
will report back in 1500Km when next maintanance is due.

Hello fellow Guzzi folk, I'm in the rather lucky position of having a 1000s in London, and also a house in the French Pyrenees. I've toured and raced it in the past, but work commitments mean that it sits out on the road here in London, and gets used infrequently, so I'm thinking of moving it to it's own heated workshop in the French house so that on holidays I can use it for blatting around the mountains when the mood takes me. The idea of flying up through the narrow valleys with the Lafranconis booming is rather appealing! The problem is - I have no idea about the logistics of how to go about registering, MOT'ing and taxing it over there, and sorting out insurance for it, etc. I'm hoping that someone on this forum has gone through the process in the past and can provide some advice. I noticed that Andre is based in the Cevennes area of France - so he may be able to help. BTW Andre - fantastic looking bike! You mentioned doing some trackdays and things on it - would that be in France as well? If you can help I'd love to have some information about that too! I'm not sure of the etiquette for these postings, so if anyone wants to contact me offline, rather than through this forum please contact me andrew_weiss@yahoo.com. thanks in advance, Andrew.
