The Wolds Run has been taking place on a yearly basis for the last nine years. It is a charity event held to raise funds and awareness of the Lymphoma Association.

The event is held in the Lincolnshire Wolds, a beautiful part of the county of Lincolnshire whic is in North Eastern England. It was under threat this year but luckily an organiser was found last minute!

The Wolds Run 2008

I had a bit of a run round on the Guzzi. This is a local event which last year had 500+ bikes on a run around the (Lincolnshire) Wolds funnily enough! this yearthe event was smaller, but all credit to the new organisers who set it up at short notice. the good thing was that it was mostly old stuff...there were a few Guzzis there...


...the one in the middle above is an ex Italian Police V7. I spoke to the bloke last year just after he bought it. He's got several other bikes so the Guzzi is used all weathers. Despite being 'cosmetically challenged' its excellent mechanically, and he really enjoys it. I think if it was mine I'd also leave it as is and just run it.

Top right is a home made Guzzi powered 3 wheeler. I spoke to the bloke and he scratch built the chassis, suspension and aluminium bodywork - not necessarily my kinda thing but I can appreciatre the work gone in to it... it has an Alfa gearbox.

I also found some Italian tiddlers...


the event started and finished at East Kirkby Lincs Aviation Heritage Centre, so we had the treat of the resident Lancaster sparking-up and trundling around when we got back... http://www.lincsaviation.co.uk/
