What is a Rat Bike? Well the Urban Dictionary definition is as follows -
| A REALLY ugly motorcycle that is ridden often, never cleaned, and maintained at the absolute minimum for it to run. Some rat bikes are built from scrap parts (often from 4 or 5 different motorcycle brands), others start off as nice bikes and gradually become rats. They are often spray-painted camo or matte black to cover all the rust. Just think Mad Max! You dont often see a Moto Guzzi that is dirty or tatty and I've never seen a Guzzi Rat Bike, but a little research on google and I found these!
I know most Guzzi owners prefer their bikes to be "Shiny" but you must admit these bikes do have a certain rugged charm! If you find out information about rat bikes, perhaps on how the phenomenon started, more images, or even if you know someone with a Guzzi rat bike...add it to this page, it could prove to be a useful resource documenting this interesting facet of Guzzi ownership. | ||||||||
