Photography Competition

Photography Competition, Squadra GuzzistaFantastic photography competition!

You may remember last year we ran a photography competition to find 13 images for our 1st anniversary calendar.

The competition was a huge success and drew entries from all over the world.

The eventual calendar was truly sensational and was so good in fact that even the promo video for it won an italian Moto Guzzi club's video of the month award!

The standard of photography was so high that we thought we would do it again!

This time we are running the competition earlier in the year to allow everyone more time to take that special shot over the summer.

Many of you will be touring during the summer months and I am sure that will give you ample opportunity to find and submit that special photograph that will make you a winner! So, read on, enjoy it, and the very best of luck to all who enter!

Squadra Guzzista Photography Competition 2008

The theme of the competition is "On the road". It is up to you how you interpret this theme, but the image should show Moto Guzzi on the road. The idea is once again that we find 13 images for our 2009 calendar. One for each of the twelve months and one for the cover.

Last year's competition was our first one and we have learned a lot from it that's why this year we are starting it in May, to allow you to take full advantage of the summer months and of the time of year when most motorcycling events are held. The competition will end on 1st September which, will allow us plenty of time to print the calendar and to post it out so that you have it in your hands before the start of 2009.

One very important request from us...please read the rules carefully. We receive very large numbers of images and any that don't meet the criteria must be rejected. Last year many entrants were submitting links to their online albums. Please do not do this as the hosted images are not large enough. In the last competition this led to us rejecting some magnificent photographs because of this.

If there is anything you do not understand please contact us at info@guzzista.com and we will do what we can to help you. The video on the left is to show you the images that made this year's calendar!

The Rules

There are rules...not many, but there are some rules:

Closing Date:

The competition will end on 01 September 2008. Photographs must be in by midnight on that day; any later and they will not be allowed to take part due to strict timing requirements for printing.

Theme:

The images should illustrate and bring together the following two elements:

  • "On the Road"
  • Moto Guzzi

Format:

Images should be digital. It is up to you if you choose to submit colour and/or monochrome, but they should be a minimum of 1600 pixels (wide) x1200 pixels (high) in a landscape orientation. We will accept the following formats only: png, jpeg, jpg.

You must submit 2 images:
  • The first will be the competition entry.
  • The second image will be of the photographer with his Guzzi. This allows us to index the images.

Please remember to include your full name with your images.

Judging:

The images will be judged, and the winners will be selected by, a panel of Squadra Guzzista staff members. Persons connected to Squadra Guzzista in a management and/or organisational role or with any direct involvement in the running of this community, will not be taking part...so fairness is assured.

The competition is open to all...members and non-members. Preferential treatment will not be given to any members of this site or of the associated forum and each image will be judged on its own merits, bearing in mind the specified requirements under "theme", and "format" sections. The judges' decision is final.

Prize:

...well it's what a competition's all about isn't it? The winners will all be immortalised in the Squadra Guzzista 2009 calendar. Each of the winners will, of course, receive a complementary copy of the calendar and a selection of Squadra Guzzista goodies!

Submitting:

Please send your photos to info@guzzista.com ...and have fun!

Thank you and good luck!
