The new incredible Ghezzi-Brian 1000 Sport Monza
Today is a good day. I received an e-mail from Bruno "Brian" Saturno, he of famed motorcycling engineering artists Ghezzi-Brian, to inform me about a brand new creation from the well-loved manufacturers of alternatives for well known Moto Guzzis.
The creators of the amazing and radical "Supertwin" have proudly proclaimed in their e-mail that "our brand-new kit finally gives you the chance to turn the Moto Guzzi V11 into a true Superbike".
And who am I to argue? Since the demise of the Daytona and 1100i Sport models there haven't really been any worthy successors made by the factory.
The V11 Sport range in all its variants would point at the sport end of the motorcycling world but they are really more in the sport-tourer vein. Guzzi's recent wearer of the "sport" tag, the 1200 Sport, nice though it is, is nothing more than a slighltly modified and clothed Breva. Guzzi have of course made a track bike, the amazing MGS Corsa, which was itself born out of the creativity of Ghezzi-Brian, but who the hell's gonna get one of those?
So what do you reckon? I throw this question in particular at the many V11 owners...
This is what Ghezzi-Brian themselves have to say about it:
"With the new 1000 SPORT MONZA Ghezzi-Brian gives the chance to turn a well-loved Moto Guzzi bike, the V11, into a true Superbike.
The Ghezzi-Brian engineers have completely redesigned the Model V11 look, and the result is a modern, aggressive-looking bike. And, since we are talking about Ghezzi-Brian, nothing has been left out to give it outstanding, uncompromising performance.
The V11 will finally be and look like a true superbike, filling in a traditional gap in the Moto Guzzi products list.
Aesthetic: The fixed aesthetic kit includes:
- Body and front fairing
- Front/rear frames
- Seat
- Lights
- Aluminium gasoline tank and pump
- Chin spoiler
- Digital dashboard (optional)
- Paioli fork Æ 41
- Mupo fork Æ 43 or 46
- Mupo monoshock-absorber
- Braking system with Brembo radial calipers
- Stearing plates with setting trail
- Forged aluminium or magnesium rims
- Aluminium swivel arm
- Aluminium push rod with uniball
- High compression forged pistons
- Special connecting rod
- Camshaft
- Fuel electronic injection module
- Exhaust system
They can then move further on with the mechanical components, either assembling them on their own, or letting Ghezzi-Brian take care of their bike and give it performance they would have never dared to dream of.
Thus revives the glorious V11, now an up-to-date masterpiece to be the pride of his owner. It represents the latest step on the long and widely admired path of Ghezzi-Brian, sporting soul of Moto Guzzi and author of bikes with ever outstanding performances.
A short list of such creations includes the MSG-01, designed and developed by Ghezzi-Brian on behalf of Moto Guzzi and even now absolute leader of the tracks with the Guareschi Team, the Supertwin 1100 designed for the Bott and Supertwin specialties, and finally the Pro-Thunder , winner of many races in the American championships ."
I don't know about you fellows, but it works for me! Here's that amazing side view again! Over to you boys now...open a thread to say what you think. For more info visit www.ghezzi-brian.com
