Squadra guzzista member Steve Adams, (
Brushwarrior) owns a nice looking Breva 1100 in black...well, they're all nice aren't they? Anyhoo, Steve pointed his Breva towards Suffolk...
"I went for a phut this week along part of the suffolk coast starting at twee coastal town of Aldeburgh ( 40 miles or so from Bury St. Edmunds). God that place has changed since i was last there. I wonder if I should call it mini Bournemouth with all these retired people?
I hopped onto the Breva and a blat down the A14 to Ipswich, then pick up the A12 and dart off to Woodbridge. I tthen meander off to Snape Maltings (famous for classic concerts i think).
Join the main road to Aldeburgh and duck near the golf course as you enter the outskirts of the town. All the gorse and heather before hand was nice to see.
A quick whinge at Suffolk coastal district council - bikes have free parking where marked apparently, did i find any? no. Anyway, stretch the legs and back on the bike and head for the other side of the town. Then spied the clam sculpture based around a composer benjamin britain. this controversial peice causes a few sparks with the locals. It is made of stainless I think (where's me magnet when i want it!) and just plonked on the beach.

Off toLeiston next and like a twonk missed the turning toThorpeness - for the sharp eyed amongst you lot its famous for the house in the air...you may just spot it on the Aldeburgh beach photo.
Looking at a detailed map later, I could've carried on the beach road and got into the village that way - oops... tank bag on order later! Next village after turning away from Leiston is Sizewell, known for something that could make yer glow on a dark night, if I do you know where i got it from! Despite that, it's a nice quiet beach and folks fishing too.

Next off through Westleton and to Dunwich, heard about it often enough and also bird reserve nearby (feathered)...will dive into the pub at Dunwich maybe on another run
got to Walberwick and ran out of road
And so onto Southwold, which some may know for the Adnams Brewery or for Michael Palin's film East of Ipswich.

So after another stretch and a quick watering, even found a yellow guzzi cali in the centre of town - must've been the only bick spot - ROFL, I did something i'd never done and followed the A1120 back to Stowmarket. I did the hairy baker impression at Saxted Green, known for its windmill. So, what a very reasonable short blat on the ol' gel, good for a Sunday spin I think...onto the next event !"
