Awesome Le Mans - Squadra GuzzistaDarryl Fenton's 850 Le Mans caused a deal of interest when a pic of it appeared in the gallery. Here, he tells us a little more about it...

"Hello, I thought you might be interested in my bike, its a 1977 Mk1 Le Mans (second series).I have owned it for 6 years and has been ultra reliable during this time.

Spec wise it has everything the factory could think of to make it go faster than the standard model as it has the full factory race kit fitted!

This includes a straight cut long circuit gearbox + different ratio bevel drive at the rear, 40mm De'llorto phm carbswith no choke or accellorator pumps on them...you just tickle them to start the bike.

A B10 camshaft, alloy timing gears,a deeper oilsump, a light action clutch (a real one finger job !)a very lightweight throttle action...no carpal tunnel health problems with this bike!. It also has Lucas Rita ignition, Koni Dial-a-Ride shocks,a super rare pair of Manani rearsets, Gazelle stainless exhaust system, an aircraft fuel filler cap, and acres of polished alloy...and a leather seat.

It was once featured in Classic Bike way back in Jjuly 1981 under the heading "Into the epoch with a Guzzi Le Mans". It gets a lot of attention whenever its parked up anywhere especially at Captain Jaspers burger bar on the Barbican in Plymouth!

I have attached a couple of pictures for you to look at if you want.any questions just drop me a line!

Cheers for now best regards, Darryl".

Darryl that is a gorgeous example, thank you for sending in the feature! Do you have a copy of the magazing feature? If you could scan it it would make a great addition to the press articles page!

What are you doing in April? You should bring her out for the spring run!

If you don't mind Darryl, what do you do to get the "one finger" clutch on that beast? although I don't know why I am asking now, after 18 yrs. of riding the CX100 my left wrist is already bigger than the right, I am about to get my rididg jacket altered : )
