Anzanigo 2008
The mainstay of the "foro", and Squadra Guzzista member, is Pedroguzzi who worked furiously to organise this event, an event which is growing in popularity year on year. I will make it my mission to attend one year as I would dearly love to meet in person those spanish guzzisti with whom I natter over the internet. I will let Pedro tell the story. The photos are by a variety of Foro Moto Guzzi members. The text is from Pedro's report in Spanish, which I have translated for your benefit.

Even though the meet did not start until the Saturday, Guzzisti had already begun to arrive from all over Spain on the Thursday and that evening approximately 40 of us had dinner together…in fact we ended up chewing the cud until the early hours of the morning, swapping stories and accounts of our adventures aboard our beloved v-twins.
Friday began in much the same way as Thursday had, bathed by a glorious sunshine that invited those present to explore the unforgettable landscapes and places of the Anzánigo area. Almost magical places such as the Castle of Loare, or the Monastery of San Juan de la Peña, dug out of the rock, resting place of the legendary ancient Kings of Aragón. We decided to spend the day exploring these and other local attractions whilst back at camp, more of our forum members flocked to Anzánigo. That evening there were 75 of us at the dinner table and with excellent company, such as on the previous evening, I’m afraid we all retired to our sleeping quarters a tad late…
Saturday was the actual day of the meet and with great anticipation, we expected the greater part of attendees to arrive that day. We had quite a number of Italians trickling in, for their part, the French Guzzisti seemed to come in droves. There were some that had made their way over from Andorra…there was even a Czech guy, although he actually resides in our bull hide (the map of Spain is so called because its shape resembles the outstretched hide of a bull).
At approximately 1800 we had a tea made up of local sausages and cold meats, local bread, and a locally brewed beer that was completely demolished in double-quick time, so next year we’ll have to make sure we cater for many more! Our Guzzisti friends continued to trickle in until a total of about 150 sat down for dinner that evening at about 2100. After dinner we were treated to a gig by the rock band Bonzo Attack and the French combo Les Lilops. This went on until very late, accompanied by the twin essentials of excellent conversation and beer.
An Italian chap from Cagliari in Sardinia received the award for having travelled the furthest, some 2000kms but there were many who had made a journey of 1300 kms and I extend to these people my most sincere gratitude for the effort they put in to attend this event. The Spanish rider who travelled the furthest was Grisin who came from Murcia (southerm Spain) whilst the most veteran was our good friend Joan Borras (Calicat on our forum) who, even though having just passed the 65 year marker post goes about his business and his riding like an 18 year old teenager. Always accompanied by his lbeloved Carmen and his Cali. The youngest attendee was Christian Actis from France who having made the trip with his father celebrated his birthday whilst at Anzánigo and was quite overcome with emotion on receiving his certificate award!
I would like to take the opportunity to thank all those on our forum for the beautiful gift made to my daughter, who is only one and a half months old, of the gleaming red trycicle wearing Moto Guzzi badges. Incredibly beautiful and such an emotional moment for me. I should also add that Moto Guzzi donated a splendid Moto Guzzi jacket by Dainese which was raffled with the winner being one Barto Garcia who immediately went on to present it to his girlfriend right there and then…love is love, the rest means nothing!
The following organisations who kindly supported our event also merit a mention in grateful thanks, and without whom the event would not have been as successful: MOTOS CORTES Zaragoza, MOTOS CAPARROS Barcelona, MOTO GUZZI ESPAÑA, CAMPING DE ANZANIGO, TODOSIDECAR.COM, KM 0 club del motorista, CERVEZA ARTESANAL ALES AGULLONS-MEDIONA.
