Hello, my name is home - Squadra GuzzistaBill Bruno

About Me...

My home town: Wayne Pennsylvania

Country I live in: United States

My Occupation: Handyman. Started business after 30 yrs. of police work. Retired in 2004.

How I found Squadra Guzzista: Searching the net for Guzzi sights

More about me...
How long have I been riding bikes? Since I was 17 yrs old

Why Moto Guzzi? Always had an eye on them heard a lot about them and had to give it a try. Glad I did. Before I bought my SP I researched Guzzi for about 2 yrs. I really liked what I saw and how "everyone" helped each other get there bikes running and the fun they had doing it. I am really impressed how well these bikes are put together and also how well written Guzziology is. I also like the fact that not only did Guzzi sell me but also the people who not only own them but repair them as well. It is a group of people like no other. I guess we have to be there are not that many dealers around.

How/when I first became interested in Moto Guzzi: When I was younger my friends father had mentioned them as being good bikes and that the chp were using them.

My main type of riding is pleasure

About my Guzzi...

What is it (model/year): You are looking at a 1980 SP 1000

How long I have owned it: One month

Is this my first Moto Guzzi: Yep.

Other Guzzis in my stable: 1976 Convert. Bike still in shipment. Will add more once it gets here. This is my second Guzzi. Well the Convert has arrived. Other than both tires being low on air I was able to take her for a ride. Wow was that neat. It is like riding a big bike balloon tire bike with the swing back handle bars. It needs work but that is what Guzzi guys are all about. It really is a lot of fun. On Oct 20 2009 I finished the convert. Greg Bender was a "TREMENDOUS" help to me in rebuilding the transmission and other problems I was having. It it on the road and it needs a few more things to make it completely road worthy. But it is pretty much there. Gosh it is great fun. Thanks Joe for a wonderful site and also thanks to a great bunch of Guzzi guys who just keep the fun going.

Modifications I have made and why: Extended the windscreen to block the air from hitting me on longer rounds.

The bike's main purpose is: Pleasure. Also "all" the Guzzi people I have met are very nice. Special "Thanks" to Greg Bender and Leo Weisman for there help and great conversations. Thanks Guys.

It's quirks: Not many.

How it compares with other bikes I've owned: Very easy to maintain and a blast to drive.

What it's like to live with: Very nice.

What it's like to ride: FUN

My bike's most appealing feature is: Its high rev power.

My bike's best feature is: It looks neat.

Would I recommend one like it to my best friend?: Yep

Would I own another, given the chance: Yes really a lot of fun.

General Guzzi stuff...
What I think of current Guzzi models: Very appealing

If I could, the one I'd buy tomorrow: A Grisso

My all time favourite Guzzi: The Eldorado first attracted me to the brand.

If I were boss at Mandello I would: Keep up the good work. That Grisso is sharp looking.
