I'm Michael
home - Squadra Guzzista

About Me...

My home town: Fort Smith, AR

Where I currently live: Cedar Hill, TX

Country I live in: USA

My Occupation: Mercdes-Benz Tech

How I found Squadra Guzzista: Googled "Guzzi"

More about me...
How long have I been riding bikes? Effectively, since June 21, 2008

Why Moto Guzzi? Because it's Italian so it's beautiful and passionately designed and made. It's a little eccentric. I wanted a cruiser, but I didn't want a Harley and, while Japanese cruisers have their benefits and some are really beautiful, they're also sterile and a lot of times contrived. I just get the "fake cruiser" or "cruiser wanna-be" feeling about them most of the time.

How/when I first became interested in Moto Guzzi: I first knew of Moto Guzzi when I lived in Italy when I was a teenager.

My main type of riding is (competition/pleasure/commute/work): Pleasure & will also commute/work some.

More about "Graziella"...
What is it (model/year): 2004 Cali EV Touring

How long I have owned it: Since August 14, 2008

Is this my first Moto Guzzi: Yes.

Other Guzzis in my stable: None

Modifications I have made and why: LaFranconi Competizioni, Stucchi Crossover, K&N Air filter, PC III, & dyno tuned. All done by previous owner.

The bike's main purpose is: To bring me great joy.

It's quirks: How she sort of nudges to the right when standing still and the throttle is "poked". How you occasionally shift to the next gear, let out the clutch and give it a little gas and the "N" light pops on.

How it compares with other bikes I've owned: Never owned any others

What it's like to live with: It is everything I had hoped for in my first bike/Guzzi and much more.

What it's like to ride: Smooth, BAGS of torque.

My bike's most appealing features are: Engine & exhaust

My bike's best feature(s) is(are): One?! I'm supposed to pick just one?! How about some? Engine, exhaust, 90 degree V that is so smooth, eccentricity & how it's different from most everyone else's, the history of Guzzi, the character... y'all feel free to message me if I need to continue.

Would I recommend one like it to my best friend?: Absolutely

Would I own another, given the chance: Absolutely

General Guzzi stuff...
What I think of current Guzzi models: I may not wish to own them all, but I like them all.

If I could, the one I'd buy tomorrow: Bellagio

My all time favourite Guzzi: Bellagio

If I were boss at Mandello I would:
home - Squadra Guzzista
Now you know why I don't have any hair. It's all blown off!

My other little bug, "Aku"

home - Squadra Guzzista
Just washed, ready to ride...

Washed and ready to ride!

First Guzzi
The night I brought "Graziella" home.

I guess I'm supposed to put a few words that describe me, so here they are...
American, southern, proud, honest, happy, adventurous, diligent, devout, gregarious

Don't be shy...
