Hello. I've just joined this group. My name is Joe McWilliams and I live in East Texas, specifically Nacogdoches. I have recently purchased a 2003 Stone, my first Guzzi, and am currently awaiting delivery.
I've been riding bikes for over 40 years, beginning with an Allstate step-through scooter. I used it to deliver papers and it laid the foundation for my life-long passion with two-wheels. Over the years I've owned every Japanese brand, Triumph, BSA, BMW, Vespa, and Harley-D. Currently I have an '09 H-D Street glide, '80 Honda XR500, '68 Honda Trail 90(nearly complete rebuild), and now the '03 Guzzi Stone. I've wanted to try a Guzzi since the early '70's when I looked at one but couldn't affors to buy it on my grad student budget.
Anyway, I now have the Guzzi that I've always wanted and look forward to tapping the accumulated knowledge of this forum as I begin getting to know the bike and making mods to suit my riding preferences.
Cheers,
Joe

Welcome Joe! You've made a good choice wth the Stone. It's the descendent of the best of the Californias, the Jackal, and I'm sure you're gonna love it. Once you get used to it you'll find that unlike many other cruisers the Cali will really hustle in the twisties...I can get my knee down on mine haha
Glad you're here. You have access to commenting on any page of the wiki. You can even create your own pages if you feel the inclination to. I hope you enjoy the site. We also have a forum at www.guzzista.com/forum where we go for a chat.
The forum is hosted sepparately (for security) so you'll need to register there too, but if you use the same username/password as on here it'll make it easy to remember. There's a good bunch on here. We're laid back and easy going...there's enough shite going on in the world for life to be regimented here too!
Regards
Joe
