About Me...

My home town: chattanooga,tn.

Country I live in:usa

My Occupation: ironworker(ret.)

How I found Squadra Guzzista: stumbled upon it

More about me...
How long have I been riding bikes? 40 yrs.

Why Moto Guzzi? they are about as oddball as me(ha ha).really i like the no-nonsense,practical,form follows function approach to building bikes.also the build quality and the passion that the italians have for motorcycles and their design.they are a more pure example of what a motorcycle should be,without all the add-on garbage.

How/when I first became interested in Moto Guzzi: I have had a thing for guzzis for 30 years or so,but was somewhat put off by a few minor things and never took the plunge and bought one until about 5 years ago(a '86 le mans, which I kept for a year or two). That's all it took!!! I then bought a '02 le mans, and rode it for a couple years (wonderful bike!) then sold it.About the same time I bought a '73 eldo to restore(never got to it,and sold it).Now I have a '07 Griso that I've had for about three months and couldn't be happier.Wonderful bike!

My main type of riding is (competition/pleasure/commute/work): right now:touring('04 kawasaki concours),play('07 Griso)and('76 T3 cafe,competition-enduro/hare scrambles('08 KTM 250 xc)

About my Guzzi...

What is it (model/year):'07 Griso

How long I have owned it:3 months

Is this my first Moto Guzzi:no

Other Guzzis in my stable:'76 T3 cafe

Modifications I have made and why:Mistral high exhaust, fender eliminator.Great sound and tidy up the appearance.

The bike's main purpose is:FUN

It's quirks:Quirks? A Guzzi with quirks?

How it compares with other bikes I've owned:Maybe the most fun street bike I've ever owned.

What it's like to live with:A real treat every time I ride it .

What it's like to ride:Sound, ease of operation, unbelieveable handling,TORQUE out the wazoo, and draws attention everywhere you go.

My bike's most appealing feature is:Its sinister looks(especially with the black color).

My bike's best feature is:A toss up between that loveable lunk of an engine and the unflapable handling.

Would I recommend one like it to my best friend?:Without hesitation!

Would I own another, given the chance:Absolutely!

General Guzzi stuff...
What I think of current Guzzi models: Griso-raw sex,Norge-I almost want one,Cal classic-coolest retro going(paint the fenders),Sport-almost there(a little more power,please)

If I could, the one I'd buy tomorrow: Griso 1100 8V

My all time favourite Guzzi: Eldo, A timeless classic

If I were boss at Mandello I would: work toward more power and less weight on most of the line-up.lets face it.any modern makes"enough" power but usually more is better.I know the twins make a different kind of power and a tourer or sport-tourer with 80-100 hp isn't a slug, but with the current trend approaching 150,I for one would like to see a little improvement here. For example, what's up with the new v7 making 50(or less)hp? Great looking bike,but......just my 2 cents worth.

Hi Steve, thank you for your profikle, I'm glad you're here and I hope you enjoy it! Squadra gives you the ability to add content so if you wish to create your own page go for it...you can also add your comments to any of the existing ones!

...some good news...you wanted more power for the 1200 Sport? Well, they've just added the 1200cc 8v engine from the griso/Stelvio to it! :-)

Regards

Joe
