Hello, my name is Deggie

3 do EuropeMe on the right, with two Kiwi friends in Germany, the Nevada on the left is mine too, Pete's Laverda wasnt ready.

About Me...

My home town: Los Carlos

Country I live in: Spain

My Occupation: Computers

How I found Squadra Guzzista: google search

home - Squadra Guzzista
I am in G.P.S. Guzzista Pathfinder Scheme. If you are thinking of travelling through Spain (Andalucia) and need advice, send me a message.

More about me...
How long have I been riding bikes? On and off since I was 15

Why Moto Guzzi? Robust, shaft drive, full of character, Italian and definately not ordinary...

How/when I first became interested in Moto Guzzi: Saw one advertised, a Strada 750, bright red and mint, I was riding a Kawasaki GT 550 (shaft) at the time and wanted something better, lighter and not so buzzy. Went to see it in Manchester, bought it, rode it home, loved it... swapped it later for a LeMans MK5 with a fellow member of the Moto Guzzi Club GB, loved that more, the more I rode it, the more I loved it, toured Europe on it twice. Bought a Nevada 750 for the girlfriend, girlfriend went, bike stayed, became my everyday bike after the Lemon expired in a ball of flames !! Sold everything to move to Spain. Later bought a Yamaha 125 motard (cheap) and swapped that for the current Targa.

My main type of riding is (competition/pleasure/commute/work): Pleasure, its always a pleasure here in Spain, I do use it for work, but thats a pleasure too...

About my Guzzi...

What is it (model/year): Targa 750 1993

How long I have owned it:about 3 years

Is this my first Moto Guzzi:No

Other Guzzis in my stable:Currently none...

Modifications I have made and why: Changed clip-ons for normal bars, and bar raisers, changed fairing for one from a Moto Morini,(and back to the original) to get the bars on, reason... more comfortable riding position for the narrow twisty mountain roads, and a better view of the (bad) Spanish drivers!!

The bike's main purpose is: Fun!

It's quirks: Wot do you mean quirks, its a Guzzi, it doesnt have quirks, it has personality...

How it compares with other bikes I've owned: Scruffier

What it's like to live with: Its a friend.

What it's like to ride: Great for anything less than about 300K in one (or two) hops, makes your bum hurt on longer jaunts.

My bike's most appealing feature is: Its a Guzzi

My bike's best feature is: Its a Guzzi

Would I recommend one like it to my best friend?: Yes, except I had it off him, and he now has a Ducati Monster... red, italian, V twin... close...

Would I own another, given the chance: Any one...

General Guzzi stuff...
What I think of current Guzzi models: Pretty, would like injection, but not the electronics that go with it.

If I could, the one I'd buy tomorrow: Centauro... mmm

My all time favourite Guzzi: See above.

If I were boss at Mandello I would: Spend all of my time testing MY Guzzi's

Greetings Deggie, just read the write-up on your trip and really enjoyed it.I'd love to visit Europe someday, especially Spain,Italy, and G B since my favorite bikes come from those countries,Moto Guzzi,OSSA and Triumph heading the list.I attended Vintage Motorcycle Days this past weekend at Mid Ohio sports car complex, where I sold one of my prize possesions,a '75 OSSA Super Pioneer that has never been ridden in the dirt. There is always a huge contingent of Spanish bike enthusiasts there and they usually perform well in the competitions.Anyway, just wanted to thank you for sharing your trip with us.Regards,Steve (Fossil)
