About Me...

My home town: Bury St. Edmunds

Country I live in: England

My Occupation: Admin

How I found Squadra Guzzista: search engine. Looking for guzzi groups.

More about me...
How long have I been riding bikes? 29 years

Why Moto Guzzi? They're different from the norm!

How/when I first became interested in Moto Guzzi: A work friend, Adam (you still out there?) had a V50 and told me to try it. After a spin down the old runway i had to have one! Had a V50 Mk3 from biggleswade and that started the eventful love affair off - ROFL. I'll list em anyway, ready? V50Mk3, V75 Targa (demo bike i rode had lanfranconis on! so i was sold a new one, a nice trek across to eastern europe on this one. Then a Mille GT (first big guzzi!) found out how guzzi's were easy to work on, even the UJ! Another jaunt across Europe. Then Strada 1000with givi panniers, what a revelation that was, apparently should have been one of the first guzzi's with FI but importers told em no we want carbs. See the return connection on the tank blanked off. oh also UJ went on this too! Can do it in my sleep now. after that revved the guzzi a tad more.
Then want onto a Jackal - no lifting me leg over - ROFL. had superbike bars, been attacked with a hacksaw at the rear, so needed a reasonable amount of TLC. also silly twit previously
jump started the bike, ECU said bye bye. Early EFI's have no surge protection, so fit transil diode - french guzzi website, it does work. Also Alan Jefferies in OZ excellent bloke. Have original ECU if anyone can repair or sort it out let me know.
ahem, still with me?
Strangely enough this machine was one of our group that gave no trouble on the isle of man, love the mountain part of course.
finally to the breva, impressed by build compared to earlier machines, stainless brake lines, 4 pot calipers etc. The gearbox very sweet too, and not playing snooker - ker thunk.
does a song and dance each time you switch it on - italian entertainment?

My main type of riding is (competition/pleasure/commute/work): pleasure plus some commute

About my Guzzi...

What is it (model/year): Breva 1100 2005

How long I have owned it: 10 months

Is this my first Moto Guzzi: nope see above, strange how i keep going back, didnt mention other machines, may upset someone - ROFL. After all this time i know i'm a guzzi nut.

Other Guzzis in my stable:

Modifications I have made and why: master cylinder tops made by TH as no bugger produces red anodised ones! are accessories, bling wise - larf.

The bike's main purpose is: pleasure

It's quirks: talk to it in italian to see if will start - ROFL

How it compares with other bikes I've owned: awesome pleasure

What it's like to live with: so far so good.

What it's like to ride: handles well, needs more noise out the back!!!

My bike's most appealing feature is: comfortable, laid back for a modern machine. the sound.

My bike's best feature is: V twin easy going

Would I recommend one like it to my best friend?: yes

Would I own another, given the chance: always room for another guzzi! i'd have a hanger full.

General Guzzi stuff...
What I think of current Guzzi models: hopefully last major change?

If I could, the one I'd buy tomorrow: Griso minus fruggly silencer!

My all time favourite Guzzi: 1000S

If I were boss at Mandello I would: stop cutting corners and add even more quality. streamline more parts to fit across the range - makes sense.
